Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV), a member of the human herpes virus family, causes two distinct clinical manifestations: chickenpox and shingles. Primary VZV infection results in chickenpox (varicella), which may rarely result in complications including encephalitis or pneumonia. Even when clinical symptoms of chickenpox have resolved, VZV remains dormant in the nervous system of the infected person (virus latency), in the trigeminal and dorsal root ganglia. In about 10-20% of cases, VZV reactivates later in life producing a disease known as herpes zoster or shingles. Serious complications of shingles include postherpetic neuralgia, zoster multiplex, myelitis, herpes ophthalmicus, or zoster sine herpete. VZV is closely related to the herpes simplex virus (HSV). Affected skin shares so many histological similarities that distinguishing between them may be difficult. Immunohistochemistry with anti-VZV appears quite sensitive and specific on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues in the di

Green fluorescent protein is a 27 kDa protein produced from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria, which emits green light (emission peak at a wavelength of 509nm) when excited by blue light. GFP is an important tool in cell biology research. GFP is widely used enabling researchers to visualize and localize GFP-tagged proteins within living cells without the need for chemical staining.

Rockland produces highly active antibodies and conjugates to collagens. Collagens are highly conserved throughout evolution and are characterized by an uninterrupted ''Glycine-X-Y'' triplet repeat that is a necessary part of the triple helical structure. For these reasons, it is often extremely difficult to generate antibodies with specificities to collagens. The development of ‘type’ specific antibodies is dependent on NON-DENATURED three-dimensional epitopes. Rockland extensively purifies collagens for immunization from human and bovine placenta and cartilage by limited pepsin digestion and selective salt precipitation. This preparation results in a native conformation of the protein. Antibodies are isolated from rabbit antiserum and are extensively cross-adsorbed by immunoaffinity purification to produce 'type' specific antibodies. Greatly diminished reactivity and selectivity of these antibodies will result if denaturing and reducing conditions are used for SDS-PAGE and immunoblott

This antibody is designed, produced, and validated as part of a collaboration between Rockland and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and is suitable for Cancer, Immunology and Nuclear Signaling research. Variant histones H2A are synthesized throughout the cell cycle and are very different from classical S-phase regulated H2A. H2AvD is vital for viability, but the exact function of variant histones H2A is not known.  H2A is a core component of the nucleosome, an octamer containing two molecules each of H2A, H2B, H3 and H4. The octamer wraps approximately 146 bp of DNA. HsAvD  is expressed both maternally and zygotically and is found in embryos through to adults (female only).  The human homologue, H2AX, is phosphorylated by ATM protein kinase when double strand DNA breaks occur.  In mouse, H2AX ''knock out'' mice have an increased incidence of cancer.

Purified Anti-PtdIns(3)P monoclonal antibody.Subclass: IgG2aSource: MouseApplications: ELISA Immunofluorescence Alphascreen Fluorescence PolarizationProduct Background: Phosphoinositides (PIPns) are minor components of cellular membranes but are integral signaling molecules for cellular communication. Phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PI(3)P) is enriched in early endosomes having roles in endosome fusion and receptor sorting and internalization in multivesicular bodies. PI(3)P has also been found at the plasma membrane and is involved in the translocation of the glucose transport protein GLUT4.Storage2-8 °C for up to 30 days -20 °C for greater than 30 days.
