      • Copper bromide (CuBr) is a source of a click-active copper species. In organic solvents it works optimal with TBTA as a ligand. Our CuBr is of high purity and we take especially care for its stability. In this state it is one of the most effective catalyst for click reactions. After solubilizing it is necessary to use it right away to avoid fast degradation (< 30 min).

If you want to perform click reactions in organic media using e.g. CuBr as catalytic source, TBTA is the right ligand to use. It speeds-up the reactions plus maintaining the Cu(I) oxidation state of the copper source to protect your biomolecules from damage and degradation.

Water-soluble CuSO4 is the compound of choice, if click reactions in aqueous media e.g. for experiments with cell culture or sensitive biomolecules that do not accept DMSO-based environment should be performed. To create the click reactive Cu(I), Sodium Ascorbate (BCMI-005) is needed as reducing agent. Additionally a water-soluble ligand for protection of your sample has to be used (THPTA; BCMI-006).

The water-soluble CuSO4 reagent is for performing click reactions in aqueous solution e.g. for experiments with cell culture or sensitive biomolecules that do not tolerate DMSO. In order to create the click reactive Cu(I) species, Sodium Ascorbate is needed to reduce Cu(II). Additionally, please make sure using a water-soluble ligand (e.g. BCMI-006) protecting your biomolecule.
