Water-soluble CuSO4 is the compound of choice, if click reactions in aqueous media e.g. for experiments with cell culture or sensitive biomolecules that do not accept DMSO-based environment should be performed. To create the click reactive Cu(I), Sodium Ascorbate (BCMI-005) is needed as reducing agent. Additionally a water-soluble ligand for protection of your sample has to be used (THPTA; BCMI-006).

The water-soluble CuSO4 reagent is for performing click reactions in aqueous solution e.g. for experiments with cell culture or sensitive biomolecules that do not tolerate DMSO. In order to create the click reactive Cu(I) species, Sodium Ascorbate is needed to reduce Cu(II). Additionally, please make sure using a water-soluble ligand (e.g. BCMI-006) protecting your biomolecule.

5-Ethynyl-2’-deoxyuridine (EdU) is a nucleoside analog to thymidine and can be incorporated into DNA during DNA synthesis (see also our EdU cell proliferation assays for more information). The newly synthesized DNA carries an alkyne moiety that can be easily clicked to azides to assess cell proliferation, cell cycles, viability, etc.
