LipoFluor-DMN-LD™ is a new cell-permeant stain for the selective staining of lipid droplets (LDs) in various cellular contexts, including live and fixed cells, as well as in three-dimentional speroids, using both single and two-photon excitation. The dye's versatility, near-instantaneous cellular uptake, simple compound storage/stability, lower background fluorescence, and high-intensity LD staining make it a valuable tool for rapid resonance scanning and gaining insights into the complex biology of Lds, which has implications for disease states.
