1.    Hyaluronan Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay 

Best for: Samples with a wide molecular weight range

Sensitivity: ~40 ng/mL
Sample volume: 100 µL
Format: 96 well plate 

Key advantages:

  • Detects all sizes of HA
  • Widely validated across multiple sample types
  • Cost-effective for routine use: package of 5 plates

Typical samples:

  • Serum

How it works:
HA in your sample competes with plate-bound HA for binding to a detector. The signal is inversely proportional to HA concentration.

2.    Hyaluronic Acid Sandwich ELISA 

Best for: High molecular weight HA (>130 kDa) at low concentrations

Sensitivity: ~5 ng/mL
Sample volume: 10 µL

Key advantages:

  • Highest assay sensitivity
  • Ideal for detecting low-abundance HA

Consideration:

  • Sensitive to HA size due to polymer binding properties

How it works:
HA is captured between two detector layers, enabling highly sensitive quantification.
