Ac-Asp-Met-Gln-Asp-pNA (Caspase 3 (Apopain) Substrate) - 25 mg
Molecular Weight: 669.21Salt Form: TFAPurity: >96%Sequence (3-letter): Ac-Asp-Met-Gln-Asp-pNASequence (1-letter): Ac-DMQD-pNAStorage: -20 °C or belowAc-Asp-Met-Gln-Asp-pNA is a colorimetric substrate for Caspase 3 (Apopain). Caspase 3 is a cysteine protease that is rapidly activated during apoptosis and that cleaves several substrates including poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Caspase 3 is activated by Caspases 8 9 and 10 and cleaves and activates caspase 6 and 7. Caspase 3 cleaves the amyloid precursor protein (APP) contributing to Amyloid beta formation and has been implicated in Alzheimer’s disease and proposed as a target for drug discovery.Activity is quantified by the release of p-nitroaniline which is measured by absorbance at 405 nm.References1.
