14-(Bromoacetamido-PEG3-ethylcarbamoyl)tridecanoic t-butyl ester has a bromine on a PEG linker with a alkane tail that has a t-butyl ester group. The bromine (Br) can be used as a leaving group for nucleophilic substitution reactions. The t-butyl group can be deprotected under acidic conditions. It is a self-assembling PEG reagent which may form micelles in water. This compound may also be used as a building block for lipids in nanotechnolgy and drug delivery.
