5-Ethynyl-2’-deoxyuridine (EdU) is a nucleoside analog to thymidine and can be incorporated into DNA during DNA synthesis (see also our EdU cell proliferation assays for more information). The newly synthesized DNA carries an alkyne moiety that can be easily clicked to azides to assess cell proliferation, cell cycles, viability, etc.
