      • The biosensis Multi-Neurotrophin <em>Rapid</em>TM Screening ELISA kit has been designed to allow rapid screening and quantification of rat NGF, BDNF, NT3 and NT4/5 in cell culture supernatants, lysates, serum and brain extracts only if used as directed. Please refer to the kit protocol for specific use instructions for each substrate application, in particular rat serum. <br /><br />This two-plate kit consists of four sets of 6 strips for each Neurotrophin, allowing for the assay of 16 samples per Neurotrophin tested and a full range of standards, all run in duplicate. It provides the identical sensitivities and ranges that are achieved in the complete, individual ELISA kits, thus allowing easy progression into the larger individual assay sizes when needed. The Multi-Neurotrophin <em>Rapid</em>TM Screening ELISA kit therefore presents a cost effective way to quickly screen multiple samples, which can then be published or used prior to a more extensive analysis wit

ABTS ELISA Peroxidase Substrate (2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid)) is a chromogenic substrate use to visualize reactivity of certain enzymes, particularly in immunosorbent assays. ABTS ELISA Peroxidase Substrate is commonly used with peroxidases, but is amenable to many other enzymes. In the presence of active enzyme, the substrate becomes a soluble green product detectable at 405nm.

The NF-kB/Rel family of transcription factors is comprised of several structurally related proteins that form homodimers and heterodimers and include p50/p105, p52/p100, RelA (p65), c-Rel/NF-kB [1]. Members of this family are responsible for regulating over 150 target genes, including the expression of inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, immunoreceptors and cell adhesion molecules. Because of this, NF-kB has often been called a ‘central mediator of the human immune response' [2]. Acting as dimers, these transcription factors bind to DNA sequences, collectively called kB, sites thereby regulating expression of target genes. In most cells, Rel/ NF-kB transcription complexes are present in an inactive form in the cytoplasm, bound to an inhibitor IkB. Certain stimuli result in the phosphorylation, ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of IkB proteins thereby enabling translocation of NF-kB into the nucleus [3]. The most common Rel/NF-kB dimer in mammals contains p50-RelA (p50/p65)
